Moon in Astrology: Demystifying its Inconstancy
Exploring the Power of the Moon in the Natal Chart and its Impact on Our Life
I have read about the Moon's inconstancy on multiple occasions, and today I wish to delve deeper into this topic. Wherever the Moon is located in our natal chart, we observe fluctuations. Even when it resides in fixed signs like Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius, the Moon still indicates changes. But what is the root of this "instability"?
If we examine the effects of the Moon in nature, we will notice that without the Moon, life as we know it simply couldn't exist.
The Moon has several significant effects on Earth and nature due to its gravitational influence and interaction with our planet. Some of the most notable effects are:
Tides: The Moon's gravitational attraction causes tides in Earth's oceans. The Moon creates two daily tides, a high tide and a low tide, as Earth and the Moon orbit around their common center of mass. This has a significant impact on coastal ecosystems and marine life.
Stability of Earth's Orbit: The Moon contributes to stabilizing the tilt of Earth's rotational axis, resulting in more predictable seasons and more stable climates.
Nighttime Illumination: Moonlight, reflected by the Moon, brightens the night and affects sleep patterns and the behavior of nocturnal life, including animals and plants.
Influence on Agriculture: Some agricultural practices, such as planting and harvesting, are timed based on lunar phases due to the belief in their influence on plant growth.
Reproductive Cycles: Some marine and terrestrial animals synchronize their reproductive cycles with lunar phases, which can influence the reproduction and migration of species.
Animal Behavior: Some animals, such as wolves and deer, have been observed to be more active during the full moon, while others exhibit different behaviors based on lunar phases.
As we can see, the Moon exerts a significant influence on Earth and nature through its effects on tides, sleep patterns, agriculture, animal behavior, and more. Its presence and cycles have been observed and respected by humanity for centuries.
So why do some astrologers describe the "inconstancy" of the Moon as a disturbing effect? In my view, the reason lies in the disconnection from the natural rhythms of life and our attachment to thought patterns, what I refer to as "human byproducts." This disconnection not only separates us from our human nature but also creates insecurity and unease about behaviors that can only be avoided through emotional repression or suppression.
In shamanism, the Moon is viewed as a mystical and powerful entity that influences people's lives and experiences. Shamans, or spiritual healers, often connect with lunar energy in their practices and rituals, recognizing its profound influence on the human psyche and nature itself.
