I was reading Marc E. Jones, one of the most prominent astrologers of the 20th century, explain his view on oppositions, and I found it an interesting perspective to broaden our understanding of oppositions in the natal chart.

From Marc Jones' perspective, the opposition, by creating a direct line of tension between two points (or planets) in a chart, indeed establishes a dichotomy dynamic: left versus right, black versus white, and so on. This polarized framework can serve as a foundation around which a person constructs their understanding of the world, allowing for a unique capacity for balance and perspective.

Oppositions as Axes of Understanding

- Philosophical Organization: For individuals with oppositions in their natal chart, these aspects can function as a central axis or a backbone around which their personal philosophy and decision-making processes are organized. It encourages a natural inclination to see and evaluate both sides of a situation before reaching a conclusion, providing an inbuilt mechanism for balance and objectivity.
