Pluto's Transit and its Effect on Natal Position
What does the Plutonian transformation process mean?
In this post:
The effect of Pluto the natal houses
Pluto's shadow
On March 23, 2023, Pluto enters Aquarius for the first time, beginning its three-act cosmic dance between Capricorn and Aquarius. This retrograde motion will continue until November 20, 2024, when Pluto enters Aquarius for the last time and where it will stay until 2044.
Pluto's revolution around the Sun takes 245.33 years to complete. The last time Pluto transited Aquarius was in 1777. I have previously talked about what happened during that time. You can read it in this article or watch the video.
How Pluto Works in the Astrological Houses
In the astrological house where Pluto is located, either by its natal position or by transit is where we will experience the "harsh reality". We notice this more clearly in transits since the situations we go through are presented as some kind of inescapable crisis. Pluto's natal position is more difficult to be aware of because we were born with it and it is part of what we consider "normal".
However, even if we do not notice it, it is essential to take into account the natal position of Pluto, since the transit is transmuting what is intimately linked to the evolutionary process indicated by natal Pluto.
If it weren't for Pluto's transits, we wouldn't be aware of the transformation process involved in being alive.
Pluto shows us that there are unconscious behavioral mechanisms that are somehow corrupted. By "corrupt" I mean that they have been modified during the process of adaptation to the environment and have deviated from the geometry of the essential Self. Pluto's house position shows us the area of life where we have access to a kind of rebirth. Here we have the possibility to rebuild that aspect of Self with our own creative power... or let ourselves be carried away by crises and lose ourselves in fear of the unknown. Therefore, Pluto indicates evolutionary processes. When we go through that mystery, we learn to rebuild what we have lost but in a more faithful, more refined, more powerful version.
Of course, the evolutionary path of the soul meets our attachments, fears, shame, and guilt, which keep us clinging to the past. When we cling to them, Pluto's evolutionary power can be confused with the origin of suffering. There are no magic formulas to overcome the fear of the unknown... Pluto's path requires courage to face what makes us ashamed and guilty... until we discover that they are nothing more than mirages in which we have become entangled for the first years of life when we still did not have enough awareness to be able to understand the reality in which we were born. Furthermore, considering the mystery of existence, many of these memories could have been passed down through our ancestors, or even from soul memories.
When Natal Pluto is in:
House I: it is about the reconstruction/regeneration of personal power
House II: it is about the reconstruction/regeneration of personal values and self-esteem
House III: it is about the reconstruction/regeneration of perception
House IV: it is about the reconstruction/regeneration of emotions and our sense of belonging
House V: it is about the reconstruction/regeneration of creativity
House VI: it is about the reconstruction/regeneration of abilities
House VII: it is about the reconstruction/regeneration of relationships
House VIII: it is about the reconstruction/regeneration of intimacy
House IX: it is about the reconstruction/regeneration of the philosophy of life
House X: it is about the reconstruction/regeneration of ambitions
House XI: it is about the reconstruction/regeneration of ideals
House XII: it is about the reconstruction/regeneration of compassion
The transit by house and by sign awakens aspects of our essence that seek transformation to continue the evolutionary path of the soul. During the next 23 months, when Pluto moves between Aquarius and Capricorn, we will all experience the same energies, but each one internalizes them according to their essential geometry.
The work of consciousness that Pluto demands asks for honesty with ourselves and courage to go through the less comfortable emotions that we have hidden in the subconscious. Pluto's gift is personal growth and the discovery of unimaginable inner treasures.
Read about the transits of Pluto in Aquarius through the houses and/or watch the videos about Pluto in the houses.
Pluto's Shadow
Although I have already written about this on my website, I wanted to talk about how Pluto's energy manifests when acting from the Shadow. With Shadow, I refer to our reaction when we act out of fear, guilt, or shame. Pluto's energy acts involuntarily. Whether we like it or not, the transformation process begins. When the Plutonian process is activated, a great desire to suppress can be awakened about what begins to arise... usually unconsciously. The human mind is so rich and creative that it always finds ways to avoid what is unpleasant.
When Natal Pluto is in:
House I: The Shadow acts as personal suppression
House II: The Shadow acts as insecurity
House III: The Shadow acts as cynicism
House IV: The Shadow acts as the feeling of exile
House V: The Shadow acts as self-indulgence
House VI: The Shadow acts as humiliation
House VII: The Shadow acts as the feeling of separation
House VIII: The Shadow acts in despair
House IX: The Shadow acts as fanaticism
House X: The Shadow acts as hypocrisy
House XI: The Shadow acts as sectarianism
House XII: The Shadow acts as martyrdom
The way the shadow manifests varies from individual to individual. What we all live in common is the "denial" of what we feel, compensating for it with the opposite extreme. If we dare to feel the emotions that are awakened, without judging them and with curiosity, we will realize that they all arise from distorted definitions of what really happens... which - generally - have been built in childhood, nurtured with a lively imagination but also lack of experience. To deconstruct those definitions, we need to go through that "dark forest" full of monsters and ghosts that hide in the unconscious! If we could conceive that our perception of many aspects of reality is basically a childish illusion, we would plunge with great pleasure into the abysses of our own existence... to discover what else lies beyond/here.
