Unless we use the system of equal houses, the geographical position of our birthplace is a decisive factor for the structure of the natal chart.
This occurs due to the inclination of the Earth on the plane of its orbit. Due to this inclination, an astrological house can go beyond thirty degrees of zodiacal longitude. As a consequence, a zodiacal polarity arises (for example, Aries-Libra) that is intersected, while, at the same time, another polarity (for example, Gemini-Sagittarius) presents two successive cusps1.
The astrological houses represent zones of our human reality. The sign found on the cusp of a house describes how we behave with that aspect of reality.
For example, if we have Aquarius in the 7th House, the house of relationships, we relate to others in an Aquarian way. In other words, we are friendly and impersonal.
As I have mentioned, it is possible for a zodiac sign to appear on two consecutive cusps. In this case, we handle ourselves in the same way in both areas of life.
But... what happens with the signs that are intercepted?
The intercepted signs seem to be deactivated from our consciousness. Contrary to some popular interpretations, I do not believe that we should "wake them up" or make any conscious effort to use the qualities of these signs.
For me, the natal chart is perfect as it is and there is a "cosmically intelligent" reason that needs the interception of those signs. In addition, I think that to interpret this configuration, we should include the other axis - the signs that fall in two successive houses, because on an energetic level, they create a balance within the totality of the natal chart.
